9 Months

Oh my goodness!  Hudson, I can’t believe you are already 9 months old!  I say that every month, but time is flying by-I really can’t believe it!  You are the best little baby and we are enjoying every minute with you.  Here are a few things that you’ve been up to in the last month.

• Your the proud new owner of three pearly whites!  You got them a few weeks ago and you didn’t fuss a bit even though I’m sure it was painful getting 3 new teeth at the same time.  I can see 3 more on the top getting ready to come in soon. 
• You clap all the time.  You are the happiest little fella.  You started doing this more than a month ago and you just clap when you are happy! 
• You’ve learned a little the sign language for more.  When I’m feeding you and you want more you clap :)  Clapping and the more sign are very similar. 
• You love to take a bath and splash!  We’ve been to the pool a few times and you love to slash there also!
• You are not crawling-yet, but seriously it will be any day, we are hoping it will actually be in the next week or so because Daddy will be at beach camp and we don’t want him to miss it.  You get up on all fours and rock back and forth and even sort of make the first ‘step’ but then you quit :)  You have started sitting up from laying down, and now it’s a cool ‘trick’ that you practice during your naps.  Update:  Since I hadn’t posted this yet you’ve started crawling as of 6/16!

• We went for your 9 month well check last week and you are growing like a weed!  You weighed 21 pounds 4 oz and were 29 1/2 inches long.  That’s between the 50th and 75th percentile for weight and 90 percentile for length. 
• You are nursing 4 times during the day-around 8, 12, 4-5ish and 7 or 8 for bedtime.  You are also eating baby food about 3 times a day.  In the last month you’ve really increased the amount you eat.  Most days you eat 2-3 jars of baby food.  You still love ‘real’ food.  Tonight you ate almost 1/2 a sweet potato.  You still wake up at night to nurse and you really eat A LOT so I hate to let you cry yourself back to sleep, but I’ve decided that tonight is going to have to be the night.  You don’t nurse for very long in the morning and I really think it’s because you’re eating so much at night.  :(  Update:  I hadn’t posted this yet but as of 6/17 you are pretty much sleeping through the night we had a few rough nights where Daddy would come in to check on you and he’d lay you back down, but I haven’t been feeding you at night and you’ve been sleeping longer and longer.  The last few nights you didn’t wake up at all! 

Hudson, I love you so much!  You are such a joy and we are all better because of you!  I wish we could keep you this age forever, but we are loving watching you grow!  I just wish it would go a little slower!
