Only 1 day left...

Only 1 day left until my baby turns 2! WOW! Is that possible? I kept kissing her tonight and telling her it was the last night for me to kiss my one year old and I need another smooch! And then I'd say it again! I just can't believe it!

This afternoon after Landree's nap she and I ran to Target. We pulled into the parking lot and she said, "No, Target. Doggie Store." (We have a PetSmart right by our Target and we always stop in to see the animals-which she loves!) We were actually at another Target yesterday (Ok, I know I have a problem) and she kept saying Doggie Store the whole time we were there. I guess she just wanted to make sure we were going to get to go. So the reason for our trip you might ask (like we need a reason) was to go pick out a present from Aunt Megan. She sent Landree a gift card along with the neatest card. It was a little book/card based on an Eric Carle book. We picked out this Fridge Phonics from Leap Frog. I love all of the Leap Frog toys. I've been wanting to get her this to work on our letters. This tells what the letter sounds like and the actual letter and it sings the ABC's. Plus Aunt Megan is a teacher (administrator now) so it fits-she believes in education :)

Landree had a great day at preschool. Last night I told her we could send a special treat to school and asked if she would like that. She said, 'uh hu' and when I asked her what she wanted to take she said, "Umm, Cupcakes!" I had no doubt she would say that. Cupcakes are synonymous to birthdays in Landree's mind. Saturday was our friend Caleb's birthday and Landree was so excited to go to Caleb's Happy Day and have a cupcake, but she was sick and we wern't able to go (good thing she didn't remember!) We missed you Caleb! Happy Birthday! So...we sent cupcakes to school to share with her friends. Her teachers gave her the book If You Give a Pig a Pancake for her birthday. Thank you so much Ms. Renee and Ms. Linda! And they painted today too. Look at that beautiful fall tree Landree painted!

And the project of the evening...Landree's kitchen. It's been in the back of my car for a month. I asked Jeff last night if he wanted to get it out and start putting it together. He said he'd wait and do it tonight. We are going to have it sitting out in the living room so that she can just come out and see it in the morning (like Christmas morning)! Here is Jeff looking at the directions. Seriously, those instructions are crazy!

It's been about 2 hours since Jeff started. He's making real progress. The top is done...175 screws for this little kitchen. Isn't it cute though? Landree got several of the matching things (the apron and dishes) and other great kitchen stuff from her friends. I can't wait for her to see it! I'll post a finished picture tomorrow. I'm sure it will be after my bedtime before it's done.

Oh, and I mentioned Aunt Megan before...well it's my turn to be an Aunt! (Megan has been my best friend since we were babies. I was actually her first visitor when she came home from the hospital...ahhh. I don't have brothers or sisters, but she's like a sister to me.) And I've kept this secret to myself for 1 month and 1 day! I am so excited to be able to tell the world that she's pregnant! She's going to be a wonderful mom! Congratulations Megan and Jeff! I love you!

And other exciting news-my friend Tom (my best friend Shauna's husband) passed his pharmacy test! This is a killer test-I never doubted you Tom! Congratulations Dr. Tom!

Happy birthday sweet girl!

Love the Fridge phonics. I think Li Li taught herself her ABC's from that :D

I love the kitchen! Isn't it amazing how complicated those toys can get. Christmas Eve is like a sleepless night for us around here. If we can get a couple of hours of sleep we consider ourselves lucky after putting everything together.

Enjoy the day with your birthday girl!

Happy Birthday Landree. We love you and can't believe you are now a 2-year-old. It is hard to believe.

Maybe you can cook us something in your new kitchen.

Love,
Tricia, Matt, and Caleb

I LOVE the kitchen! So so adorable, she will spend hours playing with it. Our little kitchen is our most favorite toy.

We checked out that pig book at the library last week and Lottie loved it. Have you read, "If you take a Mouse to a movie"...It is really cute too.
