Conversations with Landree

Landree is such a hoot these days.  We have a battle of the wills almost daily, and I’m not going to lie-she is so strong willed it makes me mad!  And then I realize (ok, my mom, dad and Jeff rub it in) that she is just like me!  But she is such a fun little girl, and much to my dismay she is growing faster than I’d like.  It’s like talking to a grown up, and she comes up with the funniest things.  She is so smart!  And I love her to pieces…

Here are a few funny things she’s said lately that I don’t want to forget:

1.  She and I ran to Walmart to get a few pics for the top of our Christmas tree a few weeks ago.  Jeff stayed home with Hudson.  There are not a lot of times that just she and I get to go places so it’s so fun when we do even when it’s just right down the road.  On the way out of Walmart the Salvation Army volunteer where ringing their bell so I pulled her aside and told her that we were going to give them our change, that they use the money to help people who might not have money for Christmas or for food.  She got concept.  The next day she, Hudson, and I had to run to (a different) Walmart after dance class.  She asked me for some more change.  I told her we gave them all of our change last night and that I didn’t have any more money.  As we were walking up she started SHOUTING to the volunteer-we don’t have any money to give you.  We already gave all of our money to the other Walmart yesterday.  HA!  (On a side note-I do not enjoy Walmart at all.  Target is my favorite place in the world.  I know the people that work there and so does Landree.  I don’t know what possessed me to go to Walmart two days in a row!)

2.  On our drive to TX we stopped in Meridian, MS.  We stayed at the same hotel that we stayed at when my mom and I drove home this summer.  They offer a free breakfast and heavy appetizers, baked potatoes, etc. during dinner hours.  We ate there this summer, but we decided to eat at Chili’s this night.  As we were carrying our bags up to our room the ladies that work at the hotel were telling us hello.  Landree proceeded to tell them that we’d already eaten dinner.  I don’t know if they ‘got it’, but I thought it was hilarious!

3.  Also on our drive to TX, the kids did great, I really don’t think Hudson cried the entire trip, but he did get a little fussy every once in a while when he was ready for a new toy, snack, drink, etc.  I didn’t really notice him fussing, but Landree started singing, again, I didn’t really think much of it until I looked back at Landree and smiled and she said in a loud/shouting whisper, with the cutest scrunched up face, “It’s working! He’s asleep!”   And sure enough he was sleeping!  That boy and girl seriously love each other!

What funny things. Love that girl. She always makes me laugh. Still remember 2 summers ago when she said, "Caleb, you have milk all over your face and you need a whipey. Let me get you one." Ha. Always so funny and never a dull moment.
