Christmas Cookies

We haven’t been home much since we’ve been in TX. We’ve been busy playing with friends, shopping, and I don’t even know what, but a few days ago {maybe a week now} we did have a chance to stay home and Landree, Mia and I made cookies. They were yummy and they are already gone! We’ll be on round 2 of cookie making and gingerbread houses this weekend at Grandma’s. Fun things like this make the best pictures and Landree actually asked me to take her picture-woo hoo! There are too many cute ones not to share!

While our cookies were baking we took a break to decorate Landree and Hudson’s trees for their rooms. Landree has a pink tree with everything ballet, pink, and fancy along with a feather boa and rhinestone topper. Hudson has a sports themed tree with a football tree skirt.

And then it was time for decorating the cookies…

Making Easter Cookies

Angie and Maggie flew home with Landree and I on Monday and stayed until Friday morning. We had such a great time with them and it made coming home from our shot trip so much easier.

Like I said...when the grandparents are around we get to have lots of special treats that we don't normally have. Grandma got us some new spring cookie cutters and sprinkles and she brought her special sugar cookie recipe for she and Landree to make. To say that Landree likes to cook is an understatement! She has so much fun making cookies-I bet I heard her tell Grandma, 'no Grandma, let me do it' 15 times. She loved rolling out and cutting the cookies.

Maggie's job was to hold the cookie sheet so that Landree could place the cookies on. Landree would tell Maggie when she was ready :)

Christmas Cookies with Grandma

This is set to auto post on 12/23.

Today (12/19) Jeff, Angie, Maggie, Krissy and I went shopping at Firewheel Mall. It's a beautiful outdoor mall. It was the perfect day for shopping and being outside. It was about 73 degrees, and there were tons of sales! After we finished shopping we went to pick Landree up from Mi and Poppee's house (I couldn't stand for her to be away from me another night) and we came back to Grandma's house to make their traditional sugar and gingerbread cookies. Landree had such a fun time! She loves cooking.

First she and grandma rolled out the dough:

Then they cut out the cookies with cookie cutters. She was so serious when she was cutting the cookies and would press really hard.

And then we decorated-she loved doing the egg wash and putting the sprinkles on:

One bottle of sprinkles flowed a little more freely than we expected:
