36 1/2 weeks

I'm still hanging in there! Here's the info: I'm still a 2 1/2. I didn't gain any weight this week. I've gained 22 pounds so far. I think my doctor said I was 50% effaced and Hudson is in position. This was another one of the doctors in the practice and what she did say was she'd be watching for me because she didn't think I'd make it to the 3rd. Honestly, I'd love to go into labor on my own since I did with Landree, but I just want to make it until after noon next Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

We are baby ready around here! Landree feels like she's hit the jackpot with all the new baby items around. Everything is a new swing, bouncy, etc. for her dolls! She is going to be the best sister! She tells me she's going to change baby Hudson's diapers, and feed him, and teach him to walk. My friend Jennifer came over on Thursday afternoon and helped me take everything apart for us to wash it. My stroller looks brand new. I am so thankful for her help. Taking things apart just makes me mad-I broke a piece off of the pack and play before we even had Landree because I couldn't figure it out. Jeff had my car detailed today and he is going to put both car seats in it tomorrow. How strange and exciting!

Pregnancy Update: 35 1/2 Weeks

I went to the doctor on Thursday to have one more sonogram. I was so excited to have this one because I didn't have one at this point with Landree. My doctor just wanted to take one more peek and see how big our little guy is...and he's not that little. He's actually measuring in at 6 pounds 1 oz., which is what Landree weighed when she was born.

I'm officially about a month away from my due date, and a little less than 3 weeks from my scheduled induction date, and I'm already dilated to a 2 1/2. Jeff and I went over the questions we could think of (which aren't near as many this time around) and wanted to make sure I can have an 8 pound baby (I know people do it all the time, but just wanted to double check) and she said she doesn't think I'll have an 8 pound baby, because she thinks I could go into labor in the next two weeks! WHAT?

We've gotten all of the necessities out of the attic like our swing, car seat, bouncy seat, etc. and I guess we're ready! I still need to pack my bag, but Hudson's diaper bag is packed and ready to go. This morning when Landree got up and went into our room she asked if baby Hudson was here (I guess because of all the new baby items).

I'm really hoping to make it to August 31st. My mom and I have hair appointments scheduled for the day she flies in (and that's really important in the grand scheme of things), Landree's party on Saturday the 29th, Jeff preaches in our adult services on the 30th and we are having a big tailgating/concert at our church that evening, but I'm sure if the birthday party doesn't put me into labor the tailgating party will so Sunday afternoon would suit me just fine if I can hold out that long :) Oh, and I went ahead and ordered the cupcakes just in case :)

Catching up

Even I'm getting sick of seeing the packing post. Obviously I'm not packing anymore! We've been home a little bit more than a week and we are in serious catch up mode. Our house looked like it exploded last Monday. I bet I've done 20+ loads of laundry since then and I got all of Hudson's new clothes unpacked and put away in the closet. I am in serious nesting mode getting everything ready-if I just had the energy to do everything I wanted to do each day!

Landree and I had a great day today beginning with a trip to the library to check out a few new books for her and then off to Babies R Us to do a little shopping. I found a 'boy' diaper bag. It's a far stretch from the cutesy bags with bows and rhinestones we've carried for Landree {even Jeff-he's such a good sport}, but Jeff was so excited about having a boy bag this time that I chose a Columbia messenger bag.

Tonight we've been cleaning because we are showing our house tomorrow. Please say a quick prayer for us if you remember around 5ish {or anytime really} the thought of having our house for sale with a new baby and all the baby paraphernalia that comes along with, makes me sick to think about. I would love to sell before we have baby Hudson. And it's officially one month before he makes his arrival!

Here is a picture of my ever growing belly about a week and a half ago-I get tons of comments on how huge I am and that I might not make it another month. I don't tell them I'm already being induced almost 2 weeks early! I went to the doctor last week-I'm measuring a little bit big and have gained 21 pounds. I am scheduled to induce on September 3rd. We get to have an ultrasound next time which I'm so excited about. We didn't have an extra one at the end with Landree and we'll get to see exactly how big he really is.

31 1/2 weeks

And because it's killing my dad that I haven't blogged in so long here are a few pictures of my sweet, silly girl.

I hope to catch up soon, I still haven't blogged about the 4th, Landree's trip to Texas, or 2 wonderful baby showers I've had! I am still downloading pictures from all of the trips!

More Vintage Fun {on a dime}!

I was searching for more vintage ideas for Hudson's room and I came across these great scrapbook kits by Kathryn Balint-I am thinking I could make some type of neat digital hybrid canvas for his room:

And look at these awesome alphabet cards! For six dollars you can buy the entire set and either print at home or have printed. If you're a scrapper you can use them for your digi pages, print on card stock for your kids, or print and frame. Sure beats the $30 set at Land of Nod I was looking at.

Name and Nursery!

Jeff and I made it home last night from CO minus Landree. Jeff's been excited about our free time until about 5:15 when we were telling Landree goodbye and he realized it's going to be 20 something days before he gets to see her. I will be heading back to TX next Thursday, but Jeff will be heading out of town on a mission trip. Reality set in and he was sad. We did all our Landree impressions at the airport and on the plane. However, we did enjoy sleeping in until 9:45 this morning (which really wasn't sleeping in considering we didn't go to bed until after 1 am.

Today our plan as been to do nothing, and I'd have to say we've done a great job at it. We have watched TV and played online all day! So relaxing.

We've decided on a baby name...drum roll please...Hudson it is! It's so funny, because so many of you commented that it was your favorite, but I should point out it wasn't because you read each others comments, because I published most of them at the same time. We love it. I even bought letters for his nursery yesterday on sale at Babies R Us. Which brings me to nursery talk...

I thought I had in mind what I was wanting-my mom found some cute bedding at a great price, and I really don't want to spend a lot on the nursery. We went over the top with Landree's bedding, but now it just doesn't seem that important, and since we don't have a room anyway it really doesn't seem like such a big deal, but I'm getting excited and want to at least have in mind what I want to in his room {enter Polyvore} I am loving it by the way-it's similar to an online idea board. You can clip pictures from various sites and put it all together. So here's room number one I've been working on:

A little explanation: The chair is a must! I had a glider with Landree and we still use it to rock and read books in, but I can see myself sleeping and nursing and rocking in this must have chair, and since we don't have so many other necessities to purchase this time I am definitely getting the chair! The name/monogram paintings by Small Words are all so cute and I love them, but I did pick up letters on sale yesterday at Babies R Us-they are polka dot and striped and I think it might be a little much to have his name in letters and then the monogram too, but I love them both. The bedding is all basic, but I kind of like that it's more mix and match-able. I love the canvas storage from Pottery Barn! I would get the polka dot in brown and possibly the solid with a brown bottom. I love the vintage type pictures and cards, but I'm not sure if they mix. What do you think?
hudson's room

I {love} Henry's nursery! Holly pulls everything together so effortlessly! I used several of her ideas above like the Sarah and Abraham print and the vintage cards.

Here's option number 2 (which isn't what I was thinking at first, but I'm starting to love now)

Here are a couple of variables/questions: We have a Jenny Lind bed which is white, but if I used it with the below things I could paint it red or navy...but does that go with the brown chair? I could get a navy chair, but I feel like the brown would last longer or we would be able to be used in other rooms later. I saw plain red and denim bumpers at Babies R Us in TX. I could paint the crib red and use the denim bumpers with the print sheets or could I just use the same brown bedding as the room above? Agh! My head is hurting!

What do you think? Over all I think I'm starting to like the vintage look better? I know I would spend more on all the fabulous accessories, and I think the color of the crib and bedding will really make a difference. What to do? I need your help!

28 weeks and names

This is the never ending draft of a post. I'm 28 weeks along with baby #2. I went to the doctor yesterday. Everything looks good-I've gained 16 pounds so far-a few more than I had with Landree, but I'm still on track to only gain about 27-28 pounds so I'm good with that. My little guy moves around all the time! I love feeling him moving around. I'm just adding this instead of editing this post...once again.

I started this post when I was 23 weeks and now...I'm already 26 weeks-this pregnancy is going so fast. I can't believe we don't have a name picked out yet or a room decorated, and the kicker, that I'm not stressed about it!

I had another ultra sound May 13th, and I'm so happy to report everything is perfect! Thank you so much for all of you who prayed for us! The placenta has moved so I can go ahead with a normal delivery and his {unnamed baby boy} heart is perfect!

The hunt for the perfect name is on-here are a few we have on our list:

Hudson {this is one of my favorites}

Jackson {we have a friend named this, but this is one of our top picks-it's actually Jeff's favorite and was the name we had picked out for Landree if she was a boy}

Walker {I love this name, but Jeff said he thinks of Chuck Norris and Walker Texas Ranger. He thinks everyone will make fun of us since we are from Texas, but I think it fits us :) Only the grown ups would make fun of us. Kids his age wouldn't have any idea who the Texas Ranger is, right?}

Jones {the name my dad has pick out for this baby and what he'll call the baby no matter what-no one is called by their real name. Actually, he calls Landree Jack because we liked the name Jackson}

Grayson {some of our friends/beach camp chaperons suggested this and I {love} the name, but I'm wondering if it's too much: Grayson Gray. What do you think?

So really Jackson, Hudson, and Walker are the top choices. We like Roberts as his middle name, that's my maiden name. Any other suggestions? I like trendy-ish, nothing too weird, or too normal, no Matthew, Mark or John's.

No belly shot today. I will get one soon to post! My momma can tell you I'm really pregnant. She saw me last week.

It's a...

It the suspense killing you? It's a boy! Today's visit went really well! Everything looked good for the most part. The doctor did want to watch a couple of things. She said my placenta was low (she didn't mention placenta previa, but after a little research online :) that's the basic gist of it) which meant that I wouldn't be able to deliver naturally if it doesn't move and they would schedule a c-section. Since I didn't have a c-section with Landree the unknown is the scary part, but I'm not going to sweat over this. It can totally still move and if not we'll be scheduled which is fine for my Type A personality too. And the other thing she wants to watch is a foci that they found on his heart. It's basically a bright spot they noticed and she said that they just want to watch it. It could just be a place where his heart has grown a little fast. She was very positive about it and I'm going back for an ultrasound in 3 weeks. She said even if it stays that way they would just want to do an ultrasound on his heart after he's born to check everything out and let our pediatrician know. We are confident that this will clear up, but specific prays for that would be great!

We are so excited! A realtor called about showing our house this morning and I had to tell her no. It's a mess! Jeff was out of town all weekend and we rented movies and just hung out last night. Now it's time to get busy cleaning! They are coming tomorrow. I'm praying for a long nap and lots of productivity on my part. All I really want to do is take a nap! Plus I have lots of blog makeovers I need to be working on! So off I go! No more internet time for me this afternoon!

Big Day Tomorrow!

Tomorrow's the big day-we will have our 20 week ultra sound to see how the baby is doing and find out what we are having! I am so excited. Time has really flown this pregnancy and I haven't been in such agony (to find out) as we've waited. I guess having a two year old helps. I honestly don't feel any different than last time, but during our 12 week sonogram they said they thought it might be a boy-I know that was super early, but I have my mind made up that it's a boy. So I'll be a little surprised if it's a girl. After tomorrow the name game begins :) I'll keep you posted!

17 weeks pregnant

So many of you have been asking how I'm feeling and the answer is great! Thanks for asking! I'm back to the stage where it doesn't even seem like I'm pregnant. I am 17 weeks along now, and I have felt two very strong kicks so far. I don't think I had felt anything at this stage with Landree. I am starting to really 'look' pregnant-I feel like last week I started growing. I went to the docter today and she said that everything looks perfect. We'll find out what we are having in 3 weeks! I'm so excited. I'll take belly pictures soon to start showing the progress.

In other news, the people who were supposed to come and look at our house on Saturday no showed on their realtor, so that was disappointing, but we have a new person coming to look tomorrow. I am so encouraged that we've had 2 people interested in less than a week of our house being on the market. Cross your fingers for us :)

A little secret!

Ok, so I hate keeping secrets! REALLY. I can't stand it any longer, and I feel like it's a safe time that I can now tell the bloggy world that I'm expecting baby number two. I'm about 11 weeks along. Several of you already know-and I even hinted here on number 5 and my friend Jen was the only one who noticed.

It was really fun telling our families-we told my parents over the web cam. I got Landree this cute little shirt. I had her wearing it and waited until both of my parents were in the room and then I let them see her whole body. My mom played into it so well. She immediately asked what shirt Landree was wearing and I asked if they could see it-it was new. I held Landree up to the screen and Daddy read it, "I'm going to be the big sister." They were really excited!

We sent Jeff's parents an email of her new outfit ;) Angie and Maggie were home together and we got to talk to them when they opened it. We forwarded it on to Aunt Krissy and Uncle B and Aunt J too. I wish we could have told them in person {I actually found out the day we came home from Texas.}

I am feeling great as long as I eat {all the time}. I am afraid that might mean I gain a few more pounds than the 25 I gained last time, but whatever works right? It's the only time you can gain weight and it be alright.

Thanks for all your concerns for where I've been. The word around here has been busy! We've been trying to get our house in tip top shape because there is no way we will be able to stay in this house when baby #2 arrives-we hope to get it on the market in the next few weeks.
