Trunk or Treating

Tonight we had trunk or treating at our church.  We decided to pick up corn dog (nutritious, I know.  I actually feel the need to defend myself because you’re about to see a picture of my 14 month old holding a corn dog.  Don’t judge…  We actually eat really well most of the time :) And I promise we cut his up.  He just wanted to hold the stick.  Then we got on our costumes and headed to the church.

I love that our church hosts this.  It’s a fun safe way to trick or treat and we get to see all of our little friends all dressed up.  Landree decided that she wanted to be Snow White and Hudson got to wear his monkey costume.

DSC_0571 Landree was being silly and I had my hand in front of my flash, but here she is as Snow White and her shoes… She did great walking in them all night.  We brought extra in case we needed them.  This girls knows the shoes can make or break an outfit :)

And my sweet little monkey.  Look at that banana in his pocket.  So cute!

Landree wanted me to take pictures of her and Hudson, too bad they were never both looking at the camera.

This girl is crazy about her brother!

When we got to the church we saw the Brewer’s first and Cooper had to show Landree all the candy he’d gotten.

Jeff and I dressed up too.  We had two pair of bunny ears so we wore them.  Jeff actually said he was a 2010 Cowboys fan (he had on his Rangers shirt).

Hudson LOVED his sucker(s).  He had part of two-again no judging :)

After we finished up at the church Jeff put Hudson to bed and Landree and I headed to a few neighbors houses to ‘treat’ just a little bit more.  We walked around with our little neighbor girl, and had fun until Landree had a melt down when I told her we had to go home.  Now we are starting tomorrow off with no blanket or tv time.  But we’ve had a fun night.  I hope you’ve all had a great Halloween too!

Show me your scary face!

Friday morning we meet up with friends to eat breakfast at IHOP.  It’s Landree’s favorite and she was super excited to eat their ‘scary face’ pancake.  They were giving kids a free pancake with a whipped cream smile and eyes, and a strawberry nose, and they brought candy corn and two oreo’s to use for eyes.  Sounds really healthy, huh?  We’re all about fun and a free pancake :)

Landree put her skirt on before we left and I let her wear it.  :)  Her shirt said cute costume so it fit :)

I had everyone practice their scary faces while we waited for everyone to get there and for our breakfast to arrive.  Somehow Jeff and I didn’t get a picture of our scary faces, and I didn’t get one picture of Hudson or Samuel.  They were just cute not scary :)

Miles and Logan were so cute.  Logan loved licking the whipped cream off of the pancakes.

Boo at the Zoo!

Tonight we headed out to Boo at the Zoo.  I was especially excited to do fun fall things this year, with Hudson being a little older, and the fact that we practically skipped Halloween last year because of the flu.  We met our friends, the Brewer’s, and the kids were super excited to trick or treat at the zoo.  They passed out lots of fun goodies not just candy.  Cooper and Landree especially loved the vampire teeth.

They have the zoo all decorated and they have lights everywhere.  There are trick or treating stations through out the zoo.  The kids got candy, crayons, a mask and the vampire teeth.  They also have a spooky maze, and of course we had to ride the carousal.  They also had a place to roast marshmallows which we passed on since it was a good 85 degrees.

Because it was so warm Hudson wasn’t able to wear his super cute monkey costume so he went as Tony Romo.  I started to sling his arm up, but that just didn’t seem right.  Jeff joked that we didn’t want him to have a scary costume and we achieved the look since no team is scared of the Cowboys right now.  Jeff has even joked about turning the Cowboy room into a Ranger room since they are in the world series.  Go Rangers!

Group picture number 1-we weren't ready :)

Picture number 2-Landree was pouting because she wanted candy :)  Luckily, she really only got about 7 pieces.  I think she ate almost all of it while we were walking around the zoo.

Poor Hudson couldn’t eat any candy, but when we came across a sucker I decided to let him have it.  This momma is a sucker. :)  This is his first sucker and he loved it!  He would eat it a minute and then put it down and then pick it back up.

I made cupcakes tonight and wrapped up caramel apples for Landree’s preschool class.  We have trunk or treat at church on Sunday night and it’s supposed to be cold.  Thank goodness!  Hope you’re all having great weeks too!
