Fun with friends and catching up!

We’ve been having so much fun with friends and family since we’ve been in TX.  I’ve, more specifically, been working like a step child helping Megan get some decorating done and the kids have been eating up their time together playing.  Megan has had to play photographer for me since my camera is in the shop, and she caught some of the cutest pictures of Hudson.  He was hamming it up for her!  Landree and Mia helped us decorate too, but they had already gone home to cook dinner and Hudson and I stayed behind to work play just a little longer.

While Megan and I obsessed (who are we kidding I am the only one obsessing) worked on the picture wall the boys entertained themselves reading, snacking, and sharing snacks with the puppies (actually Hudson didn’t want to share check out his face, but Hayden is used to sharing with these guys.)

And the later it got the funnier everything was.  The boys were helping us so much!  Hayden was moving all the clean clothes to the dirty basket.  Hudson was pulling out all the water bottles.  They eventually lined them all up on the window seal.  They both tried to climb the ladder on several occasions, and I took it as a sign Hudson was tired when he started trying to put Hayden’s pajamas on himself.

I wish I had pictures of everything in Megan’s house-it’s so beautiful!  She is going to do a full home tour when everything is finished, but here is a peak at her plate wall we put up.  And you can hop over to her blog to see the picture wall!  I love it!

And it’s definitely not all work and no play around here.  Megan, Shauna and I (my life long BFF's) had the funnest girl weekend where we shopped until we dropped, ate yummy food, slept in until 9:45, went to breakfast in our pj's, and did I mention shop?  It was such a special treat.  I am so blessed with so many wonderful friends, but these girls are the best!  I hope you all have a special friend like them.  I love them!

And speaking of shopping (do you see a theme?) the kids and I shopped until we dropped with Grandma and Aunt Maggie on Tuesday at Firewheel.  Landree got a cute new little do at Sweet and Sassy, which is ironic because sassy is the perfect word to describe Landree's attitude while getting her hair cut.  She has a shorter bob and it's so cute on her!  We had a little Christmas party at Megan’s on Wednesday-post about that coming up soon!

Santa, a giveaway, and other random thoughts...

I've said it before-I {love} Canton! I plan trips home around a first Monday! I actually went twice this last month just to get my fill and I'll make one more trip before we head home in January. I've been telling my friends in SC for years about this outdoor 'trade days' and have them all wanting to visit. Even Country Living jumped on board and featured it a few years ago...can't say enough about it. love. it!

LaurieAnna's is one of my favorite booths! It's all white and vintage and wonderful! And it's just my style {which could be classified as anything white with paint chipping off of it or any type of a bird or nest!} Here's a picture (from her blog) of her booth at the Nutcracker Market in Houston. Her booth is set up very similar at Canton. Beautiful!

She is doing 12 days of giveaways (and there are still 7 days left). Today she's giving away the cutest little birds (I bought two of them on Saturday) I am going to be putting mine in a small apothecary jar with birdseed and a little branch. I love these jars-here are a few beautiful examples. I also got a few 'bird' pictures. I can't wait to decorate! I'll be sure and post pictures when our room is all done with my new goodies. We are getting a new king size bed (yea!) and furniture. I'm still working everything out in my head. I'll post a few pictures when I have a chance to put together what I'm thinking.

We did get Santa pictures today. I will download the ones I took and post them soon. I'm not sure he was worth the 5 hour wait, but Momma, Landree, Hudson and I had a good time shopping, eating, and hanging out with Megan and Hayden while we waited. We got some great deals at the LOFT if you are still looking for gifts (or for yourself). I got a pair of jeans for $12 with a 20% off coupon. Seriously-you couldn't buy them that cheap at Walmart! Tomorrow we are going to get Jeff from the airport so I'm off to bed. Goodnight bloggy friends! I've missed you!

Updated: I just highjacked this picture from Megan until I can get mine downloaded. Landree thought Santa was worth the wait and that's all that matters.

Bathroom Redo

Since my nesting is in full force and I don't have a room to decorate for Hudson-I've turned my attention to the bathroom. I know they will probably share a bathroom at our next house and I wanted something more gender neutral than we have now {and a room to redo}. I love the retro kids, but decided that I didn't think they would mix as well with the vintage cars or sports that I want to use in H's room (if he ever has a room). My friend, Megan, suggested I use the retro kids to decorate the bathroom.

I am going to order this shower curtain (in blue) from Land of Nod.

And I made these tonight using the Retro Street: Playtime Accents Kit by Katheryn Balint I'm going to have them printed at Office Depot for a whopping .60 each.

I already bought 2 new frames with mats at Michael's for 3.99 each. They were on clearance (a sliver wood color) and I am going to spray paint the frames either black or white. I am also going to have some new towels monogrammed and get a new rug. So for about $60 or so we'll have a newly decorated bathroom! What do you think?

Remember last week when I told you about this blog I found? We'll she glittered birds for her daughter's room. And I love them! We are having a a women's ministry banquet at our church next week and as I racked my brain for ideas on how I wanted to decorate my table (without spending a lot) and I finally decided on a bird/nest theme. I have tons of bird houses already and only had to purchase a few things (this little bird, a nest, a few eggs and the glitter and glue). I'll post pictures next week on how everything turns out.
