Dinosaur Train...

I have so many pictures on my phone-they may not be the best quality, but I love the moments I've been able to catch and the story that goes with them. We were just playing in Hudson's room one Saturday morning when they loaded up the train. Both of the kids love Dinosaur Train-Landree says "time tunnel approaching" when we go under a bridge. Listen to Hudson song along...love it! I wonder what time period Uniqua is from.

Hide and Seek

One of our favorite things to do before bedtime is to play hide and seek.  We all take turns hiding (usually all together).  Landree is so funny because she’ll ask us to give a little whistle to give her a clue of where we are hiding.

Hudson has a Dr. Seuss book with tons of lift the flaps and he will talk to it and say uh-un after each flap like we do when we are looking and don’t find someone in a certain spot.  Hudson is hard to hide with because he gets so tickled and yells Momma when I am looking for him.  A few days ago he was standing at the door and I went to put something in the car, (10 feet away) when I got back he wasn’t standing there.  I wasn’t worried he had come outside because he isn’t real fast at getting down the step, but a little panic did set in when I didn’t see him in the living room. I turned down the hall and ‘boo’ from out of the laundry room jumped Hudson just giggling!

Tonight Jeff and Landree went to a wedding and Hudson and I stayed home and hung out reading, playing, watching Dinosaur Train and of course hide and seek.  After he hid in the closet a few times I grabbed the video camera.

Popee and Aunt Megan, I just want to point out how well I'm doing blogging! :)  We have preschool starting on Tuesday and a zoo trip to still post so more pictures coming soon!

Mother’s Tea 2011

Landree asked every day this week if it was mother’s day.  She was super excited about Mother’s Tea at her preschool.  I asked Jennifer if she would keep Hudson so I could really enjoy the morning with my sweet girl.  All the kids were excited to see their mommas come in-they were all lined up at the front of the room.  As we came in we found our corsage that the kids made us and then sat down for the program.  They sang a few sweet little songs.  Landree had already sang most of them to me at home.  It was funny to listen to them because at home she is so loud, but at school they were all whispering.  I think it’s because the teacher was whispering the songs along with them. :)

Then we had snacks.  The kids decorated cupcakes for us and they had sandwiches and fruit.   Landree said they had the best sandwiches because they have a kitchen at school and they make the best triangle sandwiches!  I think it was the white bread.  I don’t think she’s ever had it.

Dance Recital 2011

Sort of:  Jeff and I are going to be in Haiti during Landree’s dance recital and I couldn’t bear the thought of missing it or telling her she had to miss it.  I asked about rescheduling, but that wasn't good for the other 300 people involved :) I’m only sort of joking.  So I thought it would be fun to have a little dress rehearsal at our church on stage and then a small party afterward.  Only three other girls were able to participate today, but we had so much fun and Landree loved it and that’s all that matters to me.   And Jeff and I got to be there and we didn’t have to sit through another hour and a half of the recital!

They did both a ballet and tap dance.  Quite entertaining!

Hudson Walking

Poppee this is for you!  I haven’t gotten much video of Hudson walking because when he notices that I’m video-ing him he is more interested in that, case in point, the quick video below.  He was so funny throwing Landree’s cat and then going to pick it up.  That is his favorite game these days throwing something and then going to get it.  He’s even better than a puppy because he even throws the object himself :)

He is also loving on Landree’s stuffed animals more these days it’s so cute!  And he picked up one of her baby bottles and feed a puppy last night it was so sweet!  I am amazed at how smart he is.

We love you family!  And can’t wait to see you soon!

Also, my two BFFs {Shauna and Megan (and Hayden)} are heading my way in the morning!  I am so excited!  We’ve been so busy running errands and having play dates that I haven’t even cleaned the house.  The good thing about BFFs is they don’t care and they will help me clean if it really bothers them (which it won’t!)

Happy Father’s Day!

We (the kids and I) are so blessed to have the best husband and dad in the world!  Jeff seriously bends over backwards for us and loves us to pieces.  He’s such a hard worker and I know we don’t tell him how much we appreciate him enough.  Jeff is at beach camp this weekend so we did a little early celebrating, but we sent this along with one of the chaperones to surprise him this morning.  Jeff we love you so much and miss you!  Happy Father’s Day!  We can’t wait to see you!

We also want to wish our Popee and Papa a Happy Father’s Day too!  We love you both so much and can’t wait to spend some much need QT with you this summer!

The Most Handsome Baby Boy

Stacey, our wonderful photographer, came over a few weeks ago to take Hudson’s (5 month) pictures. She did such a fabulous job! I am so in love with all of them! I mean look at this beautiful baby!

First Bath

Wednesday when Hudson turned two weeks old we gave him his first official bath. He'd had several 'spit' (ok, sink really) baths before-somehow a bath seemed more like a priority when Landree was a baby, but really why did we torture ourselves with the whole belly button thing and all? I love how much more laid back we are this time around. Hudson loved his first bath and just sat back taking it all in. Here are pictures and a little video to prove it:

Memory Verses

We've been working on scripture memory verses with Landree since January. I'm completely amazed at this little girl, her memory, and her sweet little heart for Jesus. Even though she doesn't have a personal relationship with him yet, I pray that she will one day and I know that it makes Him smile knowing she's already storing His word in her heart. I love to hear her say these verses. It's been a great refresher for me too. While I did know most of these verses-I have a hard time with the references. We say each of these every night before bed. It's really challenged me too!

The other challenging thing has been trying to get it on video! Landree is so interested in seeing what's on the other side of the camera it's hard to 'catch her' and she doesn't really preform on demand.

Here are the verses we say each evening (and a translation):

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengths me.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

Psalms 119:105 Thy Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

2 Corinthians 5:17 If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. The old is gone and the new has come.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.

John 14:6 I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father except through me.

Little Monkey Song

Landree has been going to 'beach camp' this week at her preschool. They are doing lots of fun 'beach' themed activities, singing, playing, etc. Yesterday after her nap she wanted to sing the monkey song. I thought she meant Monkeys Jumping on the Bed. She quickly corrected me and started singing something like this:

Two little monkeys swinging on a tree
Teasing Mr. Alligator, can't catch me
Along came Mr. Alligator
Quiet as can be (I think)
SNAP!

One little monkey...

I was lucky enough to have her sing it for me on video. Her hair is a mess and truth be told she was naked-hence the face only video (she was about to take a bath). I even convinced her to sing, If you're happy and you know it before the last min. of us talking and her wanting to see what I was videoing. I wasn't sure how to edit that part out so just skip it when you get there :)

Beach Pictures 2009

I got our CD of pictures from Stacey today. I made a quick slide show and loaded it to Yo*u T*ube and the sound was absent...zilch and it's just not as fun to watch a video with no sound. So I tried a new site-I've seen some people use it before and my music stayed put...so far. The site is called Vimeo and it's free. Just thought I would share :)

So without further ado here are our beach pictures for 2009:

I love being a princess

So I've been severely lacking on posts lately, and the thought of my pictures and videos piling up/losing them because they aren't organized is torturing me! This afternoon I was looking through the short videos on my flip video camera. My parents gave it to me for Christmas and I love it! Now, I know you wouldn't know it by looking at the blog, but I do take lots of short videos of Landree. This is one from March. We were sitting at the table at lunch and she started singing I Love Being a Princess, Tasha from The Backyardigans is the original singer. Do you see the resemblance? The words go something like this {Landree's version}, "I love being a princess, I love being a princess, if you want I can tell you more...

And the beach pictures are posted on Stacey's site. I should be getting my CD soon and I'll post them here when I get them.

A singing and dancing Christmas-via video!

We had a fabulous Christmas! We spent Christmas Eve with my parents; we had lunch with my friend Megan's family a tradition we've had for about 7 years. Christmas Eve evening we were supposed to go to my Granddaddy's house for dinner, but Landree had a rough night the evening before and was super crabby so my momma and daddy went ahead without us and we put Landree to bed at about 6:20 Texas time. Christmas morning we opened gifts with Mia and Poppee before we headed to Jeff's mom and dad's. All this to say...I have a million pictures to post and lots more details to share, however, one of my favorite gifts from my parents was a new flip video camera. I've been wanting one of these so I could add videos to my blog. I didn't know how to add them with our regular video camera-the flip has a USB port that you just plug right into your computer and download your videos and it's about the size of my cell phone so I plan to carry it with me a lot. So this may be over load, but here are three videos (I'm trying to start out slow here :) from the last few days.

Setup: We got several movies/music type things for Christmas. This first video is of Landree watching Annie at my parents house on Christmas morning. Annie was the first movie I watched in the theater and Momma said I danced in the isle the entire time. She obviously doesn't get the movie just yet, but she loved the music!

Aunt Maggie and Krissy got Landree a Disney Princess Sing Along DVD-she loves music so I thought she would really enjoy it. She wasn't the only one-all of the adults actually got into it too! Jeff knows quite a few Disney songs. Having 2 sisters really prepared him for being a dad.

Aunt Gigi got really into this too. It was so fun. Landree hasn't watched any of the princess movies yet, but she's know them soon enough. I think any little girl would love this DVD.

And tonight we watched Enchanted. I LOVE that movie! My parents got it for me for Christmas. Landree loved all the singing parts and really got into dancing tonight! She was working so hard she had to stop and have a snack in the middle of her dance.

I hope you all had a great Christmas! I can't wait to catch up with everyone via your blogs :)

Happy Father's Day!

Tomorrow will be very busy for us with Jeff leaving for beach camp so we gave him is Father's Day presents early. I actually gave him his main present last week...I can't keep a present. I love to buy them and give them! We got Jeff a docking station for his IPod and I made him this video. Jeff is the best dad! He is so good with Landree! He is such a helper to me too. He loves to play with her and give her a bath, and they love to giggle, tickle and be silly together. You'll see when you watch the slide show.

Now...know that I always have the best of intentions. I have 2 birthday cards for my friends Julie and Shauna sitting on my kitchen table. Their birthday's are the 29th and 27th (of March). Now I have 3 Father's Day cards that need to be mailed (not to mention the Mother's Day presents that I've never finished or mailed to Grandma and Mia-I think I mailed them cards...) But please know-I do have the best of intentions. Happy Father's Day Papa, Popee, and Uncle Brian. Hopefully you'll get your cards in the next week or two.

And in honor of my dear old dad...the following are pictures of my garden (4 pots with tomatoes, bell pepper, and jalapeno plants-a modified garden).

Growing up my dad always planted a huge garden (whatever you might think is big-multiply that by 10...I'm telling you it was big! At least when you are like 7 or 8.) I had to pick it everyday-I HATED IT! It was hot and itchy (okra) and hurt my back (peas). I HATED IT! And then to top it off my dad would give it away! WHAT? I just spent forever picking that stuff. Don't give it away! But from this garden I learned a few things about my dad and some great life lessons. He is the hardest worker I know. He works for fun when he gets off work-I learned to appreciate hard work. If you want something you have to work for it. I also learned to be generous. He would give the veggies away. He would give our puppies away instead of selling them. He is generous. And now he is the best Popee. Landree loves talking to her Popee. Daddy calls us almost everyday to talk to Landree. He wants to make sure she knows who he is since we live so far away. She pats her chest (like he pats her back) and says Popee! when he calls. We can't wait to visit with him (and Mia) in July. Happy Father's Day Daddy! We love you!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had such a great weekend! Saturday morning Landree and I meet the 3 peanuts at the park. They were in town visiting friends and we were able to meet them-blog world meets real world! It was so nice talking to Kim while the girls (and her boys) played. Kate is so sweet and quite (she may not be quite in real life, but she was at the park), and Kim is just a warm and wonderful as she seems through the pictures and stories she shares on her blog. Kim is a wonderful photographer; she took some beautiful pictures of Landree! I'm having trouble saving them so Kim is going to send me a CD. I'll post them after I get it :) Thanks Kim! Here are few pictures I took:

The park we went to was really cute and tucked into an older neighborhood. I felt more like we were in someones backyard than a park. A lady with a little dog named Max met up with some friends there. Landree chased her little dog around everywhere. I thought this was such a cute picture...I think we might have to get the girl a dog.

Saturday afternoon after Landree's nap we packed up and headed to the beach for pictures. Stacey has them posted on her site now. The information is in the post below if you want to take a look. We stayed the night in Charleston and headed to breakfast at IHOP and the beach until around 2 before we headed home. Landree did so good; she woke up at about 6 am on Sunday (way earlier than normal) and didn't nap until we got into the car to come home. She just ran around the beach getting near the water and then would run back. She loved carrying her new bucket and shovel around and digging. Here's a little slideshow I put together with the pictures I took of Landree (and a few of Jeff) while we were at the beach on Monday.

Happy Mother's Day!

This morning Jeff had two cards for me (a funny card and a serious card) and a CD with this on it was in one of them! I love it! Jeff is such an awesome, thoughtful, caring husband. He's actually quite opposite of me. I love being creative and making things, but he always tops me on stuff like this. He's made me books, and 'keys' to his heart, and a notebook complied with notes from friends and family, and this year on Mother's Day he made me this video with video and pictures of Landree with the song "Safe and Sound" by Matthew West. I love it. If you don't have time to watch it all be sure to skip to the end for the last video clip of Landree it's so cute!!! The video is about 4 minutes. Plus, on Thursday, when I got home from work Jeff had tulips that he had ordered me on the table with a wonderful lunch he made! I have lots of catching up to do from our weekend away and fun pictures to post. Tomorrow (Monday) is my birthday too! Lots of celebrating going on :)

On a side note: This morning at church Pastor Dino told us if we have a romantic husband not to brag because everyone will hate him. They might take him out behind the church and beat them up-men aren't born naturally knowing how to be good husbands. Well, I can't help but to brag-I HAVE THE BEST HUSBAND IN THE WORLD!

USC Horseshoe Slideshow

This is the first slideshow I've made using PSE6. It was so easy thanks to the great tutorial that the Pixel Fairy Princess did to explain it on her production site!

Like I said most of the pictures are of the babies backs, but there are too many cute pics not to share...A little explanation...they loved the steps everywhere, and the house where so many of the doorway pictures are just so happens to be that of the president...oops...they didn't seem to mind. No one every came out to tell us to quit knocking on the door.

The song on this video is Sunny Days by Jars of Clay.
