Baby man, you are growing so very fast! This has been a big month for you with lots of new things happening.
- This month you slept in your room for the first time (1/16)
- Went to the church nursery (1/17)
- And turned over twice from your back to your tummy (2/18) You still haven’t turned from your tummy to your back yet. Daddy says that I never do things the easy way so we shouldn’t be surprised that you aren’t either.
- You nap 2 times a day. You normally nap around 9:30 or 10ish for an hour or so. You still nap in the swing. I know it’s a bad habit, but you sleep so well in it that I haven’t moved you to the crib for naps yet, and bless your heart our mornings vary so often with errands, play dates, and preschool pick ups that you nap out in your car seat or in the Moby (snuggled up with Mommy) a lot of mornings too. You manage to catch up in the afternoons though napping 2-3 hours most days. I make a point to be home during that time so that you and Landree can both rest. You go to bed around 7:30 or 8 most evenings.
- Since you’ve found your feet this month you’re not interested in rolling over anymore.
- You’ve had a cold the last week. This makes cold number 4 I think. Bless your heart your sister loves you so much. She’s very good at sharing-even the colds she picks up at preschool.
- You are growing like a little weed. You wear 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
- You’ve been sleeping like a champ even sleeping one night for 11 hours and one night for 9 hours. The typical is more like 8 hours and since you’ve been sick it’s been less.
- You only cry when you’re sleepy, hungry, or hot, and we do our best to make sure that we prevent these things. You are such a happy boy.
- Only in the last few days have you started eating 4 times a day. You used to eat about every 3 hours and this week it’s been closer to every 4 hours. I’m not sure if it’s because you’ve been sick or if you’re just going to start going longer between feedings. The pedi said you can start eating a fruits, veggies, and cereal, but I plan to wait until you’re at least 6 months.
- You can reach for toys and hold them and pull them to your mouth.
- While you still love your paci, and have always chewed on your fingers, you have found your sweet little thumb and enjoy sucking on it. It's so cute, but I do try to give you a paci instead. Landree still sucks her thumb at three. It seems like the paci might be a easier habit to break.
- You are a drooling machine! I think we could see little teeth at any time. How could they not be in there somewhere? You seriously slobber all the time!
- You love to read with Mommy and Landree and Goodnight Moon seems to be your favorite so far.
I found the Cowboy bear and I can’t believe the difference in the last picture we took with him! We were in TX for your 3 month picture and he was still packed for our 4 month picture.
Hudson, you are such a joy in our lives! We are so blessed that God chose us to be your family. I love you so much. You’re the best boy in the whole wide world. Happy 5 months!
Love, Mommy
